Google Turns its Back on Firefox - is a sitepoint article that is a little dramatically title - IMHO - but is what google was going to do years ago! In short, google is pushing it's own browser and apps, and is tryingt o get into your computer, not only as a search or web tool.
It's not so much a bad thing, Google is good for competition - I think the FF team must be wondering what to do. I think they can stay ahead by staying very far ahead in interface, speed and compatibility. If there is a way they can breech the active X gap (like being able to use instant play from FF insteadof IE natively, and a bunch of other things) - they'll speak to a wider audience.
I personally think that Windows should run the IE active X components in a FF compatible model. IE can dumo their crummy browser, and just run components on top of FF. Then, FF can become the #1 browser and windows can get over it's web BS. lol.
